The Adam Project is poised to be another family-friendly effort from the duo, who seem to be, with plenty of set-ups to insinuate some tender moments, particularly with Reynold's younger self and his late father. Red Notice, which is the streamer's most-watched movie of all time, got a green light for back-to-back sequels with Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot.

The trailer is packed with action and humor, showcasing Reynold's usual blend of charm and action prowess, but also teases a great deal of heart, giving the vibe of an early 80s Amblin film, but with more refined effects.

Reynolds is also slated to star in a monster uprising movie called Everyday Parenting, as well as a third iteration of the Deadpool franchise, although that project has been delayed as Marvel Studios is taking their time in reprising the character into the MCU. The Adam Project is an action/adventure sci-fi comedy directed by Shawn Levy.

The film was written by Mark Levin, T.S. Nowlin, and Jonathan Tropper. He is set to star in John Krasinski's If, which is being kept under wraps in terms of story details, but is described as a child's journey to rediscover their imagination. It's almost like a sister movie to Free Guy, Reynolds last film with Levy, and he looks to be in full bloom for this one. Reynolds plays a time-traveling pilot who crash lands on Earth in 2022, teaming up with his younger self and his late father in order to save the future.

Reynolds has said that he would be taking a hiatus for new projects in 2022, but still has a lot of film projects on his plate.

The Adam Project brings to mind all manner of high-concept 80s sci-fi action-comedy romps.

Reynolds and Levy are teaming up for a sequel to Free Guy, which was a huge hit.

The first trailer for The Adam Project shows more about the film than has been revealed thus far. Will Ferrell and Reynolds will be in the holiday comedy Spirited, which will be released in 2022. Ryan Reynolds' time-traveling pilot is trying to save the future in the first trailer for The Adam Project.
