The remakes of Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, and Mulan have all been box office successes.

In addition to offering a look at Tom Hanks' Geppetto recreating the classic Disney scene of wishing upon a star, the trailer offers looks at a variety of other supporting players in the upcoming live-action remake. It seems likely that a full reveal of the live-action Pinocchio is being saved for a full trailer, which is sure to arrive in the next month or two ahead of the film's streaming premiere. One brief glimpse sure to catch audience attention is that of The Coachman, the main antagonist of the film who entices children to venture to Pleasure Island, where there are no rules or authority, only for them to transform into actual donkeys and be sold as slaves to work in salt.
The trailer doesn't show a lot of the supporting characters in the film, but it does show a glimpse of Cynthia Erivo's Blue Fairy. The House of Mouse has produced a number of live-action versions of their animated classics over the past seven years. Tom Hanks is playing Geppetto in the live-action film while Cynthia Erivo is playing The Blue Fairy. The start of this year's D23 event coincides with the release of the live-action film, which is set to hit Disney+ on September 8. The latest live-action Disney remake includes Hanks' Geppetto, Erivo's Blue Fairy and Ainsworth's wooden puppet.
Geppetto, a kind-hearted woodcarver, builds a puppet and wishes for it to come to life so he can raise him as his own son. Every time he lies, his nose grows larger, and he tries to become a real boy, he learns the value of honesty. The Coachman marks the second live-action Disney villain remake for Evans, who played the brutal Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.
