The trailer for season 4, volume 2 shows that Eddie, Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Eleven will battle Vecna and the Demobats inside of the Upside Down, but it also shows that the alternate dimensions will emerge with the advantage.

The Duffers have said that the opening scene of season 5 will pick up with the characters still in the middle of the conflicts from season 4. The official trailer for Stranger Things season 4, volume 2 reveals the set-up for the finale, which includes Eleven's return to Hawkins and fight with Number One in the Upside Down, Vecna placing more characters into trances, and an ominous warning that Eleven's friends. If the theory is true, the season 4 finale will feature a full-scale war with the Upside Down and the U.S. military guarding the town.

Vecna is the most terrifying Upside Down villain yet, as she is not only a product of the dimension's evil, but also of the villainy that derives from the real world.

The first volume of the fourth season of Stranger Things left the characters prepared for a battle in the Upside Down and Vecna's plan to take as many victims as possible. The series version of The Empire Strikes Back ended in a catastrophic loss for the main characters before addressing their failures at the start of Return of the Jedi. The Duffers said that the deaths of beloved characters wouldn't be the sole reason for the unhappy ending of the show. The Russians, scientists, the U.S. Army, and stereotypical bullies have all been antagonists, but the overarching fight has always been between Hawkins and the Upside Down.

As has been the case before, the game in the premiere hints at how the teens will fight the Upside Down.

With Vecna controlling a new host of creatures in the Upside Down and seemingly being the one to influence the Mind Flayer, Hawkins isn't left with many options to stop his invasion unless it can kill the source.

One of the biggest theories for the fourth season of the show was that the Upside Down would take over the town by breaking the barrier that separated the two dimensions. Vecna is the most effective villain to destroy the town with the Upside Down because he grew up in it. During the first three seasons of the show, certain beings from the Upside Down, like the Mind Flayer, have been able to enter through open gates. The teens will lose the first round in the real fight against the villain ifDustin rolls an eleven.

In the season 4 finale trailer, Vecna says that Eleven and her friends will not be able to stop the villain. The game indicates that Vecna won't die until their next fight in season 5 and that the battle with the Upside Down can't be won with just Eleven. The finale of the fourth season of Stranger Things will not be satisfying for the town. In the trailer for the second volume of Stranger Things, Dr. Brenner warns that Hawks will fall. The ending of the first volume of the fourth season of Stranger Things revealed that Henry Creel was actually Number One.

As the main characters wouldn't be the only ones in this fight anymore, the excitement would be high for the fifth season of Stranger Things. Vecna's plan to invade Hawkins through the many gates he has opened will be successful if he finishes season 4 with the upper hand. After years of trying to close the gates and expel the Upside Down's influence, Hawkins may finally fall in the finale.

The trailer for the second volume of Stranger Things showed Eleven standing on a bridge and the sky was gray and red.
