As the agents zero in on her location, Eleven becomes desperate when she and her friends are surrounded, but she seems to remember something of Vecna/Number One and the lab massacre that helps her to defeat them. It would have been easy for her to turn to the dark path in Stranger Things, because her life as a test subject was designed to make her incredibly impressionable and malleable.

There are similarities between the new villain Vecna and Eleven's first victims in the first season of Stranger Things. It wouldn't be a typical point of attack to make victims bleed from their eyes, so the memories of Number One and the massacre had to be in her subconscious. She uses her powers to protect herself and her friends rather than trying to harm them. The first time this torturous technique was used was by Number One in the Hawkins Lab massacre, who went on to become Vecna.

The first victims of Eleven symbolize what could have happened if Eleven agreed to join One.

In the past, Eleven used her powers to defend herself, such as flipping a van and unconscious agents in a diner. Vecna is the new foe of Hawkins being likened to the high dark wizard of D&D. She uses a Vecna trademark in the first time audiences see her attack someone. In a hallway, agents surround her and her friends, but then Eleven uses her powers to defeat them. She was torn from people she loved and forced into the lab in the first season. She must have remembered that Number One told her to think about something she didn't like.

When Eleven escapes the Hawkins Lab in the first season, she is hunted relentlessly, and Dr Brenner and his agents will do everything in their power to get her back.

It seems that traces of the massacre are still present despite the fact that Eleven had repressed the memories. They kill innocents in their wake, including Benny, who was the first adult to ever show true kindness. Vecna helped to defeat the first victims of Eleven. It's possible that Eleven copied something One did to people that made him upset. Vecna tried to claim the group's very own Max Mayfield.

The second volume of Stranger Things will be released on July 1. The agents begin to bleed from their eyes and die.
