The newest recruit to the Boys, "Wee" Hughie Campbell, finds out how the team is able to take on Supes in The Boys #5 in the worst way possible. The job is dangerous and Butcher and his friends have to resort to outside help in order to do their jobs. Butcher was already a big guy before he took Compound V, so if he could lift 135 pounds before his injection, he could break Steve Rogers' record. Butcher and his fellow agents do a lot of things at the direction of the government. Billy Butcher, leader of The Boys' eponymous team, may be able to trounce Captain America. The same material that gives the heroes in their world their powers is injected into Hughie by Butcher.
Billy Butcher hates Supes more than any other person in the world of The Boys. Butcher joined a group of CIA operatives meant to keep powerful heroes in line after he believed his wife was killed by Homelander. Billy told Hughie it was necessary in order to take on Supes so they wouldn't be easy to kill. Even if Rogers comes in second, the comic figures who both get their powers from pharmaceutical enhancements have strict limits on how much they have improved. It's amazing to see how Billy Butcher would compare to other heroes. Power is an absolute necessity when taking on morally deficient Supes.
It's impressive in the scope of The Boys' universe. Captain America has been designated as a "peak human" and his abilities far exceed what an average person can do. Steve fights villains who outclass him in strength, speed and power. It's difficult to say for certain, since Butcher regularly takes on Supes of all stripes with a perfect record. Butcher may have an edge on Supes because of his secret weapon. Is it fair to say that Cap would be defeated in a fight with Butcher? Billy Butcher only has eyes for The Boys' patriotic superhero, so Captain America should consider himself lucky. He says that an injection of Compound V increases strength by up to twenty times. His upper limit for weight lifting is 800 pounds.
