Both the fans and the Disney executives will likely see an upturn in subscribers when the third season of The Mandalorian is released. The force-sensitive child was forced to abandon the Jedi path in favor of his father's calling due to the strength of Grogu's relationship with Din Djarin. The way in which the general audience lost their minds and Disney gambled by keeping Grogu secret has been a huge success. Disney lost over $2.5 million in potential merchandising revenue as a result of this, but it can be assumed that this was worth the huge impact the character had on the small screen.

The fatherly bond that his character would form with the child was one of the factors that led to his initial reaction to Grogu. The impact that Grogu, who was officially known as "The Child", had on popular culture cannot be overstated. In order to make sure that Grogu's existence wasn't known to anyone other than the production staff, Favreau went to great lengths.

According to an interview with Vanity Fair, the fans who reacted strongly on first meeting Grogu were not the only ones.

In one corner, there was an illustration of a baby version of Yoda, and my eye immediately went to it. He met with the two men in a room covered with illustrations for the first season of the show. Pedro says he had the same reaction to Grogu as millions of others on the internet. He became a meme after his first appearance in the Star Wars tv series. Grogu is a good example of the show's more complex themes, particularly those of fatherhood and the nature vs. nurture debate. I wasn't quick enough to do the Star Wars math, so I didn't understand whether it was the actual character or not. He spotted an illustration that looked like a baby version of Yoda, and after seeing the drawing, his heart "melted."

The prediction was correct. I was wondering if people were going to lose their minds when they saw that. Vanity Fair.
